Clay Club
There are four places available on each Clay Club Session. Absolute beginners and improvers are welcome to this two hour session where you can try out some different ideas and complete your own work in a supportive environment. When you attend your first session I will provide your clay.
On your first session I will introduce you to stoneware and reclaim clays and some basic hand building techniques. After this I will be on hand with tips and brews while you work on your own projects.
Generally I will provide clay but if you want to make a large range of items you will need to buy your own bag or half bag of clay – I will supply this. Clay costs around £22 per bag and you can buy half bags – I will check the current price when you order. A bag should last you multiple sessions. I will have some free reclaimed clay available to keep costs down. Each kiln firing is shared between 4 people so there is a limit to how much can be fired each time.
You will need two sessions to complete most small projects with about two weeks in between for your work to dry between firings (all work is fired twice). Most people come once a month.
Each session costs £30 per person which includes firings. Clay Club runs on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings – please get in touch and I will advise which dates are free, the sessions run with a minimum of 2 people – maximum 4.
Work made outside the pottery cannot be fired.
A range of glaze colours will be available, and I can order other glazes for you at cost price.
