Frequently Asked Questions

I have designed my sessions to welcome everyone into a calm environment where they can relax and learn about pottery. I will provide visual information and because each session is small, I have time to talk to each person and explain anything that is unclear. If you find joining groups daunting, please get in touch and we can have a chat about anything that may be helpful for you, for example: if you want to visit the building in advance so you know where you are going I will try my best to arrange this with you. If you are concerned about the physical demands of pottery: for example, you have arthritis, let me know and we can discuss how to make things work for you.

The main building is accessed via a ramp. The studio is accessed via an intercom – just press number 5 and we will direct and greet you.

The studio is on the first floor and there are one and a half flights of stairs. If you have any concerns about access, please get in touch. There accessible are toilets on the 1st and 2nd floor.

There is ample free parking shared with the Gladstone Pottery Museum with no need for a ticket. Just come through the automatic entry barrier. Sometimes a token may be required for the exit barrier, and we will provide these. What Three Words: poster.pets.cherry

The nearest bus stop is directly outside the Gladstone Museum on Uttoxeter Road for the 6A First Potteries service and Longton train station is a 5 -10-minute walk.

There will be a maximum of 4 people plus the tutor in each workshop.

All workshops are payable in advance and your place will be confirmed by email. If you do not attend and do not contact me 24 hours in advance your place is not refundable.

However, if you need to change the workshop date, I will do my best to accommodate you with the first available place. I understand emergencies happen so please get in touch and I will try to help.

The workshops will start promptly at the time advised in your confirmation email and there may be a slight delay in accessing the building once we have started. I would suggest aiming to arrive 10 minutes before the start time.

I offer an inclusive and calm space for people interested in pottery and reserve the right to refuse service in the unlikely event that your presence is disruptive to others.

I will provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little grubby, clay gets everywhere!

I will seek your permission to photograph your work and share on social media. If you want to take photographs during the session you will need to seek consent from everyone involved.
