Workshops
I have been teaching pottery one to one for the past few years and have decided to open my studio to small groups as well as individuals because working with clay helps me relax, and despite attending numerous courses over the years I have never felt entirely comfortable learning in a large group.
I offer regular workshops for four people with no prior experience. You can book on your own and join up to three others or book with family and friends. Either way you will be most welcome.
Each workshop offers the opportunity to learn some basic skills and build work which you can display at home. When you have completed your work, it will dry in the pottery then be bisque fired ready for glazing (applying colour), this can take two weeks.
All work will have to be fired after you glaze it, a glazing drop-in session is included in your workshop fee. More information given during your workshop.
Alternatively, I will glaze your work (you choose the colour) and you can collect it, or I can send this to you when it has been fired again. There will be a small charge for postage depending on the size of the item.
Most workshops typically lasts for 3 hours, clay club is a regular 2-hour group session. You can also book a two hour group session for 4 and I will glaze and post your work.
Introduction to Pottery – One to One: £150.00
Are you an avid Pottery Throwdown Fan or have you always harboured a dream of working with clay? If you are not keen on groups and would like to try pottery in a relaxed one to one session this could be for you?
We can plan a session together, if you have a project in mind or have no idea yet, this session is designed to help you learn the basics and try out hand building as well as learning more about the process one-to-one.
This is a half-day session and can run in the morning or afternoon, once you have booked your voucher, I will send you a booking form where you can select the most convenient dates. I run these sessions in the week and on weekends throughout the year and they cost £150 which includes all materials, as well as firing and glazing of your finished piece.
This session lasts for 3.5 to 4 hours.

Family Pottery Taster Session – One Adult & One Child: £75.00
A private introductory session for a parent and child to learn about the process of making pottery, this flexible session includes hand building small items, this could be some fridge magnets, plant labels, a pinch pot or a creature of your own design and an introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel.
I will support you both to make a small project of your choice and fire two items in the kiln, if you would like to return and glaze your items, I will give you the dates of the next glazing day, you book a timeslot and I fire your glazed work before collection. The process can take up to four weeks because the work must dry, be fired in the kiln, and then dry after glazing before a final firing. The price includes all materials, glazing and firing of two small items.
The session will last for 1 – 1.5 hours and costs £75 for one adult and one child – usually aged 11 + but please get in touch if you have a younger child and we can chat. If you want to book in as one adult and two children, please get in touch and I will send you a payment link – this would cost £100.
